by Steve Brasen, Managing Research Director, Enterprise Mobile and Endpoint Management

It is simply no longer sustainable to manage every device and every software component in an enterprise client support stack from end to end. More than half of all business professionals use more than one device (desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone) to complete job tasks, and user devices now cross a very broad range of heterogeneous operating environments (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, etc.). Compounding the problem is that fact that nearly all workers regularly rely on at least some remote applications, including web apps, SaaS apps, and virtual apps. Even with automated management solutions, attempting to monitor, provision, secure, patch, update, repair, and maintain all of these software and hardware elements is akin to trying to drink the ocean.

EMA Cloud Rants – On Premise Scale Out with ZeroStack

Torsten Volk (EMA), Jens Soeldner (vExpert) and Ajay Gulati (CEO, ZeroStack) discuss how a web scale hybrid cloud infrastructure needs to look in order to offer an Amazon Web Services-like experience, while still being easy to deploy, manage and upgrade. ZeroStack's secret sauce lies in the fact that the management appliance is offered as SaaS and controls any number of pizza box type servers that can be located in different data centers selected by the customer.
