David Monahan, EMAEMA Research Shows that Cybersecurity Reaches the Boardroom in a Big Way

by David Monahan, Research Director, Security & Risk Management

Next month, Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) is releasing the latest research in its data driven security series, entitled Data Driven Security Reloaded (DDSR). The perceptions in this year's DDSR report have the added benefit of being drawn post 2014, which was dubbed "the year of the breach." A significant issue that arose in the year of the breach was the release/ dismissal/resignation of executives such as CIOs and CEOs due to the failure to either stop breaches or effectively minimize their impacts. It was the perfect storm of numerous large scale data breaches and these unscheduled changes in leadership that caused security to get more attention at the executive level.

Why We Wrote: CMDB Systems in the Age of Cloud and Agile

Everyone presumably loves a good mystery. And in fact, the questions, "What is a CMDB?" and "What is its relevance in the age of (cloud) (agile) (fill-in-the-blank)?" often provoke such conflicted industry responses that they do suggest the presence of some mystery underfoot.

But we didn't set out to write a mystery novel per se.

What is the Future of IT Service Management?

EMA Research ReportIT service management (ITSM) is, like many terms in service management, one that carries with it a diverse identity. On the one hand, ITSM is often linked to old-guard values associated with elaborate, time-consuming processes for managing change and traditional forms of governance. On the other hand, some view ITSM as a dynamic center for expanding IT value—in combination with operations, development, and business stakeholders.

Can both views be right? Learn the answer to this question and get the latest ITSM research!

Insights Across the Hybrid Enterprise: Big Data 2015

EMA Research ReportThis new big data research builds on the success of the 2012 "Big Data Comes of Age" and 2013 "Operationalizing the Buzz" research reports to explore how big data extends beyond the initial operationalization stages to the value proposition of big data in the enterprise, including the Internet of Things (lOT) and the Data Lake implementation strategy. This year's research provides actionable information to end-users adopting this strategy and how they are expanding the reach of big data opportunities in operational, analytical, and exploration use cases.
