In 2008, IT organizations are continuing their shift from technology-focused cost centers to providers of value-added business services. By adopting IT service management (ITSM) or business service management (BSM) frameworks and processes, these IT organizations are moving toward a service provider paradigm long used by the telecommunications industry and, more recently, by providers of hosting, application and cloud computing services.
