Nimsoft Extends Unified Monitoring

To Elastic IT Services

Abstract

Nimsoft, a business unit of CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA), announced the introduction of its

real-time usage-based metering technologies and dynamic dashboard capabilities as part of its Unified

Monitoring solutions. This includes a utility computing-like usage metering service, and customized

portlets and dashboards which are the foundation for its next generation of “see as you go―pay as you

go” Unified Monitoring as a service vision.

Nimsoft technology portfolio as a positive development, well in line with the company’s history of

technology innovations and with the continued growth of the “pay as you go” model increasingly

Event

On July 27, 2010, Nimsoft introduced real-time usage-based metering

technologies and the dynamic dashboard capabilities of its Unified

Monitoring architecture. Enhancements include customized portlets

and dashboards which are the foundation for its next generation of util-

ity and service monitoring vision. These new Nimsoft capabilities sim-

plify the real-time monitoring and management of infrastructures that

service providers use to deliver elastic IT services such as automated

updates and business services management, including billing based on

dynamic usages.

Nimsoft Monitoring Solutions and Unified Monitoring

Known for its flexibility and scalability, Nimsoft has been aggressively expanding new capabilities

into its core product, Nimsoft Monitoring Solutions (NMS), and it has enabled Nimsoft customers to

extend real-time and historical reporting to deliver an overall view of the infrastructure. Since the intro-

duction of the Nimsoft Unified Monitoring architecture in October 2009, Nimsoft customers have

gained complete visibility over their entire IT infrastructure by extending monitoring from virtualized

data centers to their cloud services and infrastructure. Nimsoft customers are also able to measure and

improve service delivery and allocate computing resources for maximum performance under the busi-

ness service management perspective utilizing NMS. Nimsoft On Demand, a Software-as-a-Service

model which delivers the robust capabilities and benefits of IT monitoring as an on-demand solution,

was added in April 2010. In addition, most recently in June 2010, Nimsoft announced additional exten-

sions and impressive enhancements on its Unified Monitoring solutions. By adding Unified Monitoring

portal services, the overall Unified Monitoring solutions provide real-time performance and usages to

customers to get a full view of services running in their own data centers as well as those hosted locally

or remotely. This includes pre-defined service providers’ packages which were optimized for monitor-

ing internal and external cloud services.
