Abstract:
Monitoring of network performance is an essential practice in today’s IT operations environments, as a means of assuring the network’s critical role in supporting the served organization is being adequately fulfilled – not just in terms of availability but also in terms of efficiency and effectiveness. As IP networks themselves become increasingly stable and reliable, operational focus has turned to developing a better, more discrete understanding of how the services and applications crossing the network are performing, and the level of quality which IT end users, customers, and partners are experiencing in access and utilizing them.
