Abstract:
The demand to consolidate at the branch and limit the IT footprint makes integrated solutions very appealing. The growing trend to collapse infrastructure provides an opportunity for certain points in the network to become consolidation points. The branch represents the ultimate consolidation point since it often operates under both budgetary and physical space limitations. Blue Coat is taking the opportunity to extend its cloud security offering out to existing MACH5 WAN optimization customers, who can now add a security offering without changing the IT footprint at the branch. This approach takes advantage of Blue Coat's combined optimization and security capabilities and will be of interest both to existing MACH5 users as well as those seeking new options to consolidate branch network optimization and protection functions.
