Abstract:
At the end of October 2011, Cisco Systems refreshed its WAAS product portfolio introducing both new appliances -- the Cisco WAVE family -- as well as new Cisco WAAS software v4.4. There were three new appliances targeted at the small to medium size branch -- the Cisco WAAS 294, 594, and 694. These boxes can also deploy up to 6 virtual services such as video, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and Windows on WAAS, paving the way for deployment as branch consolidation platforms. The new Cisco 694, 7541, 7571, and 8541 appliances provide large branch offices and data centers with a 10GE-capable WAN optimization solution.
