Abstract:
On October 12, 2011, BMC released Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping 8.3 which introduced Collaborative Application Mapping among other advances. The Collaborative Mapping capability targets the very real issues of assimilating application-owner domain expertise in order to create effective application discovery/dependency maps, both shortening the timeframe for deployment and crystallizing the processes around which dependency maps can be generated.

The October announcement also encapsulated a series of other significant enhancements since BMC acquired Tideway that include: advances in administration, reporting and analysis; extended support for virtualized infrastructures and cloud; enhanced discovery including improved support for networks, mainframes, and Web and Web 2.0 environments; more efficient CMDB integration.
