Abstract: The function and feature sets of business intelligence platforms evolve at ever increasing speeds, making it difficult to compare platforms in an "apples to apples" configuration. Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) has developed the EMA Business Intelligence Continuum as a framework to match 75 points of functionality spanning five critical categories in an effort to assist in making these comparisons. This EMA research paper compares and contrasts BI platform offerings from Birst, MicroStrategy, Oracle and SAP Business Objects, and includes total cost of ownership (TCO) detailing investment costs for each. |
