IT Speaks: Practices and Trends in Enterprise Application Management
Abstract: This research builds on the ideas outlined earlier in 2008 in the thought-piece paper entitled, “Managing Applications in 2008: What Does “End-to-End” Really Mean?“ That paper detailed the product capabilities required to develop a holistic, end-to-end view of business applications in context with underlying infrastructure. This research follows up with a survey conducted in June, 2008 with more than 200 IT professionals with direct responsibility for managing business applications. The results detail IT’s concerns and challenges with supporting today’s complex and business-critical applications and business services. This report provides value to vendors, in that it identifies the groups supporting applications and those making purchasing decisions. For IT, it details current best practices in application management. |
