Increased demand for research and consulting services drives new hires
BOULDER, Colo., July 12, 2007, Enterprise Management Associates (EMA), the leading independent IT management research and consulting firm, today announced it has hired four new IT management experts to better serve its research and analysis practice as well as its growing enterprise IT consulting services.
“In line with the increased activity within the IT management space, EMA has seen a strong increase in demand for market analysis and consulting services,” said Rick Sturm, EMA’s founder and CEO. “As with all EMA analysts and consultants, each of our new team members has many years of direct IT management experience, allowing them to provide actionable research and real-world advice to our growing base of enterprise IT and IT vendor clients.”
The latest additions, which increase the size of EMA’s analyst and consultant team to 17 professionals, include:
Paul Burns, Senior Analyst, Configuration Management – Burns comes to EMA after 20 years with Hewlett-Packard where he held numerous leadership positions including most recently Senior Product Manager for OpenView Server Configuration Management. His acute understanding of business landscapes, strategy and competitive differentiation will lead to his success at EMA working with Dennis Drogseth to expand the company’s CMDB and Asset Management efforts.
Larry Burton, Senior Analyst, Network Management – Burton joins EMA with more than 25 years of experience across a broad range of technical management and engineering roles. Most recently, he served as President of Solution Partners Group, a consultancy that provides systems and network integration services for small- and mid-sized businesses (SMB). At EMA, Burton’s focus will be on network management of IT environments as well as the burgeoning area of product and service virtualization and its impact on network management. He will also have an emphasis in the areas of VoIP and wireless technologies.
Terry Camit, Senior Consultant, Service Management and CMDB – Camit has close to 20 years of IT experience with a background helping IT executives and organizations implement IT governance, compliance and operational frameworks, as well as enterprise level technical solutions. Prior to joining EMA, he served as a Senior Manager in a global risk management consultancy with legacy roots in Arthur Anderson’s Global Risk Management Practice. With ISACA’s CISA (Certified IS Auditor) and CobiT certifications, as well as the ITIL Foundation certification from the IT Service Management Forum, Camit will be a great asset to EMA’s growing consulting practice.
Mike Montecillo, Analyst, Security and Risk Management – Montecillo is an IT security expert with a background that spans vulnerability management, infrastructure hardening, forensic analysis, risk assessment and compliance efforts. He comes to EMA from a state government organization where he served as an IT Security Officer and Vulnerability Management Coordinator. Montecillo’s hands-on experience with application security will benefit EMA’s clients as he works with Scott Crawford to expand the firm’s security and risk management practice.
To complement the expansion of its team of analysts and consultants, EMA has expanded its sales team with the addition of Johnny Johnson as a Business Development Manager focused on uncovering new opportunities with enterprise IT organizations. In addition to EMA’s expanded staff, the company also recently announced its move to new company headquarters, designed to accommodate the current staff and future growth.
