Can AI be trusted with more operational responsibility in enterprise IT?
In this blog, Research Director Parker Hathcock says: not yet — not because the technology isn’t ready, but because the operational foundations underneath it often aren’t. Drawing on three studies covering service management, observability, and IT asset management, Parker found a consistent pattern: 64% of organizations have generative AI in production or pilot, yet 63% still require human approval before acting on AI recommendations, and 53% lack the real-time asset data AI needs to operate reliably.
