Of all the factors that can make or break a company’s artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, the network is perhaps the most critical. As enterprises develop, train, and use AI to gain a competitive edge, they must ensure that their networks are ready for AI traffic, which is extremely sensitive to adverse conditions like latency and congestion.

“Readying Enterprise Networks for Artificial Intelligence,” a new market research report from Enterprise Management Associates (EMA), explores how early adopters of AI are building out networks that can support AI training and inference traffic. Based on a survey of IT experts who are directly involved in these projects, this report offers guidance on how IT leaders should think about network readiness for AI and what challenges they are encountering along the way. Even among these early adopters of AI, less than half say their networks area completely capable of supporting AI traffic today.
