At its annual AI+Datanova event, Starburst introduced the Starburst Enterprise Intelligence Platform, a repositioning of its federated query and analytics portfolio as a unified substrate for enterprise AI. AIDA, Starburst’s AI Data Assistant, moved to general availability across both Starburst Galaxy and Starburst Enterprise Platform (SEP), now supporting personas, custom skills and actions, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Starburst also introduced AI-Ready Data Products, a new layer that packages governed datasets, technical metadata, and business meaning into reusable assets that analytics queries, ML pipelines, and AI agents can call consistently. Two of those capabilities are in market today: Data Products as Code (public preview) and Automatic Metadata Enrichment (general availability). Starburst previewed Context Studio, an upcoming layer for sourcing business context directly from existing catalogs, BI tools, and pipelines. The release also includes Managed Icehouse, a new Apache Iceberg lifecycle service spanning Icehouse Ingest for data loading and Icehouse LakeOps for table optimization and health observability; Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) deployments for Galaxy inside customer cloud accounts (preview); new resilience capabilities in SEP designed to keep AI and agentic systems running through infrastructure failures; and engine performance that Starburst positions at twice the throughput of open-source Trino.
