An Adopters Guide to User Experience Management: How to Pick the Right QoE Solution for You! Report 1: Services, Platforms, Application-Centric QoE, Productivity, Revenue and Brand Competitiveness
Abstract: This guide is designed to be used as an adopter’s accompaniment to the EMA Solution Center on User Experience Management available online at http://www.enterprisemanagement.com/IT_Mgmt_Solutions/ Except where indicated, all vendors mentioned in this report are also included in the Solution Center. However, this report can also be used independently as a kind of “Consumer’s Report” for organizations, businesses, and the constituencies within them seeking to launch a QoE/ User Experience Management initiative. It is the first of two reports focused around User Experience Management, and focuses on QoE Services, application-centric QoE, platform support for QoE, and QoE optimized for end-user productivity, brand competitiveness and revenue. More specifically, the seven functional sections included are: 1. User-Experience Management Services 2. Management Platform support for QoE 3. Application-centric QoE Solutions 4. Web-only (Web 2.0, SOA) Application-centric QoE Solutions 5. Application Life Cycle Solutions 6. Solutions optimized for end-user productivity 7. Solutions optimized for business impact and revenue generation A future report will target network-centric, VoIP, and telecommunications-related QoE. It should be stressed that depending on the breadth and priorities of your QoE initiative, you may well want to invest in multiple tools that answer complementary needs. User Experience Management typically requires many skill groups within IT, as well as strong involvement from Line of Business, on-line operations, and other business professionals. While some solutions may excel in supporting business objectives, others may excel in triage, for instance. In that case, this report will help you to find the right mix of solutions to fit your overall needs. If, on the other hand, you have a very focused initial objective, such as rolling out new business applications internally, or optimizing revenue on an e-business site, you should, through this report, be able to find the single vendor most suited to your specific needs. |
