On May 26, 2015, EMC announced plans to acquire Virtustream, a managed cloud services provider, in an all-cash deal valued at $1.2 billion. Virtustream has a current run rate of approximately $100 million in annualized revenue, of which approximately 60% is cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and 40% is cloud software. Targeted to be completed in Q3 2015, the acquisition is expected to have no direct impact on EMC's 2015 revenue and to provide additive revenue in 2016. Virtustream will be the focal point of EMC's new managed cloud services business and will operate as a separate EMC Federation business reporting to Joe Tucci, CEO of EMC. The Virtustream portfolio will be made available directly to EMC customers and through EMC's global partner ecosystem.
