Abstract: On April 11, 2017, VMware announced the launch of vSAN 6.6, its 6th-generation software-defined storage (SDS) product. vSAN 6.6 includes 22 new features and capabilities with a principal focus on expanding security, data durability, automation, and performance. Extended support for Docker and analytics platforms such as Splunk and Hadoop coincided with this release.
