SEWORKS Brings AI to Pen Testing on Web Apps
Abstract: Mobile application security startup SEWORKS pivoted to add automated pen testing of web applications to its portfolio with the addition of its new Pentoma cloud-based service. SEWORKS, founded by a team of seasoned white hat hackers, is applying artificial intelligence to the task of looking for vulnerabilities within web applications and servers. The company hopes to appeal to application developers and security practitioners by making the AI-based service fairly easy to work with. The company claims the service can recognize the top 10 Open Web Application Security Project vulnerabilities, which include cross-site scripting, SQL injection, and more. Whether machine learning can replace human pen testing experts remains to be seen, however. |
