Abstract:
Recession. Downturn. Economic freefall. Whatever one chooses to call it, it is clear that American businesses-and many multinational businesses as well-are shrinking. In industries of all types, in companies large and small, there is a steady stream of cost cuts, business process restructuring, and staff layoffs. For the first time in a decade, the vast majority of corporations are getting smaller, not larger. In an effort to quantify this sea of change in asset management processes and technology, EMA conducted an open survey of IT professionals to gauge attitudes about the topic.
